What is 021?
021 (٠٢١ ) is the area code of Tehran, the capital city of Iran, where the traditional south meets the modern north. Of all the huge urban areas around the world, 021 stands out as a different kind of metropolis. A half an hour walk down any street will bring you across clerics, professors, engineers who are taxi drivers, singers who are homeless, and students in intense political discussion. It is no wonder then that 021 is home to one of the largest underground hip-hop movements on the planet.
Why did you start 021Clothing?
First and foremost, to pay homage to this wonderful city we call 021. Moreover, in our cultural clothing market we continue to be bombarded by a constant repetition of ancient Persian themes. While we respect our ancient culture and history, we at 021 Clothing simply have a different vision, one which primarily focuses on our contemporary history and more importantly on our bright future that we are building everyday. This is mainly why we choose the newly built Milad Tower (Borj-e-Milad) as the symbol for our Logo. Milad means "birth" in Farsi, thus 021 Clothing is about the birth of a new and popular hip-hop movement spearheaded by a post-revolutionary generation in the underground of 021, where metaphorically speaking the "seeds" of this illustrious tower have been "planted." We will only rise like the tower if we believe in ourselves and our future.
